We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift PSV Mechanic to join our professional Engineering team at our Hemel Hempstead depot.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified engineer with proven experience working on buses to play a key role in maintaining a modern and diverse fleet. You will be responsible for planned and preventative maintenance, fault diagnostics, and reactive repairs, ensuring vehicles consistently meet Arriva and DVSA standards.
Your Role
As a PSV Mechanic, you will:
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs in line with Arriva and DVSA standards
- Support continuous improvement in vehicle reliability and performance
- Prepare vehicles for MOTs, complete planned preventative maintenance, and conduct quality checks
- Diagnose faults and ensure fleet reliability exceeds DVSA requirements
- Attend roadside breakdowns when required
Rota Pattern
You will work a rotating Early / Day shift rota, covering 5 days out of 7 (Sunday to Saturday):
- Day shift: 08:30 – 16:30
- Late shift: 14:00 – 22:00
What We’re Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in PSV or HGV Maintenance & Repair
(International qualifications considered, subject to validation) - Full UK driving licence (maximum 6 points)
- Ability to pass a PCV pre-employment medical
