ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly motivated Ukrainian-speaking Legal Counsel to join our dynamic Legal Commercial team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4-5 years of post-qualification experience as a lawyer, with at least one year in the iGaming sector.
This role requires deep expertise in Ukrainian commercial law and contracts, combined with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced international environment.
Contract Type: One-year fixed-term contract with potential for extension.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements under Ukrainian law, including Software as a Service (SaaS) contracts, service agreements, lease agreements, and related addenda, ensuring full compliance with Ukrainian legal requirements and mitigating associated risks
- Provide clear, actionable legal advice to internal stakeholders, such as sales teams on client-facing contracts and procurement teams on vendor agreements, with specific focus on Ukrainian market requirements and regulatory compliance
- Serve as the primary legal advisor on all Ukraine-related matters, simplifying complex Ukrainian legal and contractual obligations to support informed decision-making across the business
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, procurement, and finance, to ensure all contracts support broader business objectives while maintaining compliance with Ukrainian regulations
- Conduct in-depth legal research on Ukrainian laws and regulations, ensuring contracts comply with current legal frameworks and anticipating upcoming regulatory changes
- Stay informed about evolving Ukrainian legal and regulatory frameworks that impact commercial contracts and iGaming operations, proactively advising the business on necessary adjustments
- Design and maintain user-friendly contract templates optimized for Ukrainian legal requirements to streamline drafting and approval processes
- Manage and oversee compliance with contractual obligations under Ukrainian law, maintaining robust and legally sound relationships with all parties
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities related to other jurisdictions as assigned by the VP of Legal or the Head of Legal - Commercial
WHAT WE ASK OF YOU
Essential skills:
- Law degree from an accredited university with qualification to practice law in Ukraine or in a similar relevant jurisdiction
- Minimum of 4-5 years of post-qualification experience as a practicing lawyer, with a focus on commercial or corporate law
- At least one year of proven experience in the iGaming industry
- Native or fluent Ukrainian speaker - mandatory requirement
- Professional-level English proficiency (written and spoken)
- Strong understanding and practical experience with Ukrainian commercial contracts and legal framework
- Proven expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial agreements under Ukrainian law
- Exceptional ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, accessible language for non-legal stakeholders in both Ukrainian and English
- Strong negotiation skills, balancing the pursuit of favorable terms with the cultivation of positive business relationships
- Outstanding analytical capabilities to ensure contracts are precise, enforceable under Ukrainian law, and aligned with organizational objectives
- Committed to delivering high-quality work, even under tight deadlines or competing priorities
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently, demonstrating consistent productivity and accountability with minimal supervision
- Positive and adaptable attitude, eager to embrace new challenges and learn in a dynamic business landscape
- Creative and pragmatic in problem-solving, with a focus on delivering legal solutions that support business goals
- Proactive mindset, anticipating challenges and implementing strategies to mitigate risks and streamline processes

Preferred skills:
- Experience with multiple iGaming jurisdictions beyond Ukraine
- Familiarity with EU legal systems and cross-border commercial agreements
