The Project Manager will lead day-to-day planning, execution, and coordination of the Avery AI Nurse Assist Evaluation Initiative, a multi-year, multi-institution collaboration between the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation, ASU Health, and Drive Health. This role is responsible for operationalizing a complex regulatory, clinical, research, and technology program that integrates AI system evaluation, nursing education, simulation-based testing, human-in-the-loop clinical workflows, and sponsored research activities.
The Project Manager will serve as the central point of coordination across academic leadership, faculty SMEs, Drive Health technical teams, research staff, regulatory advisors, and clinical partners, ensuring scope discipline, timeline adherence, risk management, and documentation rigor throughout Phase I and subsequent phases.
Salary Range: $80,00 - $100,000 per year; DOE
Essential Duties:
Program & Project Execution
Own the integrated project plan covering credentialing framework development, testing infrastructure, research execution, curriculum licensing, and regulatory preparation.
Translate SOW objectives, scope, and assumptions into detailed workplans, milestones, dependencies, and resourcing models.
Track progress against defined timelines, ensuring readiness for key deliverables.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Coordinate work across ASU faculty, simulation teams, nurse educators, data specialists, research staff, and Drive Health technical contributors.
Facilitate regular project governance meetings, working sessions, and executive updates.
Manage alignment between clinical, technical, academic, and regulatory workstreams.
Risk, Compliance, and Quality Oversight
Maintain a live risk register addressing regulatory, clinical safety, AI performance, and data privacy.
Ensure project activities align with human-in-the-loop requirements, escalation protocols, auditability, and observability standards.
Support IRB processes, consent workflows, and documentation required for sponsored research and video/audio-observed encounters.
Budget & Resource Management
Manage the approved personnel and equipment budget, forecasting needs, and expense reconciliation.
Coordinate onboarding and scheduling of project-funded roles (e.g., nurse educators, content experts, human factors researchers, standardized patients).
Ensure efficient utilization of project management tools and infrastructure.
Documentation & Deliverables
Oversee development and assembly of formal deliverables, including:
Credentialing curriculum maps
Testing and safety validation reports
Risk and compliance assessment packages
Sponsored research outputs
Final project report and recommendations
Ensure version control, traceability, and review readiness for internal and external stakeholders.
Stakeholder Communication
Act as the primary operational liaison between ASU and Drive Health.
Prepare materials for faculty panels, advisory boards, and executive sponsors.
Support coordination of external review and advisory input as required.
Other duties

Desired Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects in healthcare, health technology,
academic research, or regulated environments.
Strong working knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., work planning, risk management,
dependency tracking, milestone-based delivery).
Experience coordinating cross-functional teams that include clinical professionals, researchers, technologists,
and academic leaders.
Ability to manage documentation-heavy initiatives requiring auditability, version control, and compliance
alignment.
Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions, with the ability to translate complex technical
or clinical concepts into clear project artifacts and executive updates.
Experience in healthcare, clinical research, nursing education, simulation-based assessment, or AI-enabled
health systems.
Familiarity with regulatory concepts relevant to healthcare, clinical research, data privacy, and human subjects
protections (e.g., IRB processes).
Exposure to AI, digital health platforms, clinical decision support systems, or health informatic systems.
Working Environment:
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting,
keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse.
Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
May be required to perform tasks in the field within and/or across University campuses.
Hybrid work schedule.
Position may involve shared offices/space.
This position is full-time, and the incumbent must be available Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm.
The primary work location is the Downtown Phoenix campus, but a presence on other campuses or at off-campus
locations may be required.
