Job Description
Under the direction of the Global Futures Laboratory Events Manager, this position will perform duties coordinating events for the Rob Walton School of Conservation and assist with related events within the Rob Walton College of Global Futures and the Global Futures Laboratory.
Essential Duties:
Assist in coordinating all aspects of event logistics including equipment orders, venue setup, registration, tech needs, catering and on-site management to ensure a seamless experience for attendees.
Facilitate event types including but not limited to lecture series, academic events, campus-wide events, etc.
With supervision, manage attendee communications, track event registrations, and provide timely updates and support to School of Conservation Futures leadership and stakeholders.
Assist with leading post-event evaluations to ensure constant growth across all School of Conservation Futures events.
Contribute to the development of new ideas and strategies to expand School of Conservation Futures event reach and impact.
Support event marketing efforts by assisting with communications, outreach, and promotional activities.
Utilize University-wide event platforms and adhere to University event policies.
Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in event coordination and/or project management experience.
Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, working effectively and efficiently with individuals and teams within a diverse environment.
Experience in quickly assessing appropriate responses to unforeseen events while ensuring seamless execution.
Evidence of effective customer service and working with diverse clientele.
Experience in work that requires organizational skills and attention to detail.
A genuine interest in environmental conservation management.
Experience with the following software programs: Microsoft Office suite, Stova, Wrike, Outlook, Google Drive, Adobe suite.
Working Environment:
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of remaining in a stationary position, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse.
Frequently required to remain in a stationary position and move throughout shift.
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
Ability to regularly change priorities to accomplish tasks with frequent interruptions.
Work both independently and within a complex structured team.
Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
Ability to rapidly learn, adapt and effectively utilize new technology, practices, policies and methods.
