THE TEAM

The mission of the Construction Department is to build world class spaces to design, on time and on budget.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a member of our Construction team, the Senior Manager/Manager, Budget Management plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and consistent project cost management across the portfolio of projects. In close partnership with the Build Manager, you will support the development, forecasting, and tracking of construction budgets throughout all project phases. You will ensure standards and deliverables are met, budgets are accurately developed and maintained, and financial insights are consistently communicated to inform decision-making. By providing support across projects, analyzing cost trends, and partnering with the Build Managers in achieving budget accuracy, this role ensures our projects remains financially disciplined and aligned with overall business objectives. THE JOB

As the Sr. Manager/Manager, Budget Management, you will:

  • Develop project budgets based on early design concepts, site conditions, and scope to inform feasibility and decision-making.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates in partnership with Build Managers, covering materials, labor, equipment, and contingencies.
  • Coordinate and manage tender packages to ensure contractors receive accurate and complete information for competitive bidding.
  • Analyze and level contractor bids to identify discrepancies, assess value, and ensure fairness and consistency in selection.
  • Formalize the commit budget by integrating approved bids, contracts, and allowances to align with project objectives.
  • Track and control project costs against the commit budget, providing updates, forecasts, and recommendations throughout the project lifecycle.

THE COMPENSATION  

The typical hiring range for this position is $120,000 to $170,000 CAD per year. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
