Job Title: Retail Manager I 

Department: Operations 

Reports To: Unit General Manager 

Status: Non-Exempt

Broad Responsibilities: Support the Unit General Manager in overseeing retail operations by helping deliver exceptional results, reinforcing a great culture, and maintaining strong client relationships. Assist in achieving financial, operational, and customer service objectives while promoting a best-in-class work environment. Ensure proper training and supervision of all personnel during assigned shifts to deliver prompt, courteous service in a manner that complies with Retail standards and company policies and procedures. 

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities: 

  1. Understand completely all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs for the retail concept. 
  2. Check quality standards upon delivery of merchandise and store supplies. 
  3. Assist in the ordering of retail supplies including merchandise, display materials, store supplies and packaging materials. 
  4. Resolve customer complaints about product quality or service through company standards. 
  5. Maintain store presentation standards. Monitor actions of staff and customers to ensure that health and safety standards are followed in adherence to state and local guidelines. 
  6. Follow proper record keeping adhering to Areas standards. 
  7. Assists in the preparation of all required paperwork, including forms, reports, and schedules in an organized and timely manner. 
  8. Arrange for maintenance and repair of equipment and fixtures (as needed). 
  9. Maintain opening and closing procedures and security standards. 
  10. Advises concept manager to the performance of associates. 
  11. Ensure all employees are following the company dress code guidelines. 
  12. Monitor merchandise presentation and sales methods to ensure compliance with brand and company specification and standards. 
  13. Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor. 

 

Skills and Qualifications 

  1. Minimum High School Diploma, some college preferred. 
  2. 1-2 years retail management experience. 
  3. Excellent communication skills. 
  4. Strong organizational skills. 
  5. Strong customer service skills. 
  6. Must be able to adapt to a diverse workforce. 
  7. Ability to assist leadership team in reaching organizational objectives and goals. 
  8. Basic understanding of P&L goals for the location including labor, sales, and cost of goods.
