Job Summary

 

Holy Cross Academy seeks a faith‑filled, dedicated Middle School Band Director to join our learning community. The ideal candidate is committed to academic excellence, Catholic education, and the spiritual, intellectual, and social development of adolescents.

 

Position Overview

The Band Director provides engaging, high‑quality instruction in middle school band and music while supporting the mission and values of Holy Cross Academy. This role works collaboratively with colleagues, families, and administration to foster a positive, rigorous, and faith‑centered learning environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Teach Middle School Concert Band and Beginning Band.
  • Plan and implement effective instructional strategies aligned with lesson objectives.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
  • Develop a program of study that supports students’ individual needs, interests, and abilities.
  • Maintain a positive, structured, and faith‑centered classroom culture.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and expectations.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
  • Support and model Catholic values in all interactions.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field (required).
  • Valid teaching certification or eligibility for certification (preferred).
  • Experience teaching middle school band (preferred).
  • Practicing Catholic preferred; respect for and commitment to Catholic teachings required.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty and staff.

 

Salary

Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
