We are seeking a Systems Safety Engineer with strong technical expertise to lead and execute system safety analyses on complex, safety-critical programs. If you are passionate about applying disciplined systems safety engineering and digital engineering practices to perform hazard analysis, manage risk, and protect the warfighter on complex defense platforms, this is an opportunity to make a real impact.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform System Safety Engineering on complex defense and safety-critical systems in accordance with MIL-STD-882E.
  • Execute system safety analyses using digital engineering and MBSE tools, including Cameo Systems Modeler.
  • Develop and manage Hazard Tracking Systems (HTS), Hazard Logs, Risk Registers, and Human/System Interface databases.
  • Conduct Preliminary Hazard Analyses (PHA) and Functional Hazard Analyses (FHA) to identify, assess, and mitigate system risks.
  • Define, allocate, trace, and validate safety requirements across system architectures.
  • Generate System Safety documentation and support customer safety reviews and program milestone events.

Qualifications

  • BS 5-7 Years, MS 3-5, PhD 0-2
  • Demonstrated experience performing system safety analysis in accordance with MIL-STD-882E.
  • Experience developing and managing hazard analyses, hazard logs, and risk mitigation artifacts.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with MBSE modeling tools (e.g., NoMagic/Cameo, MagicDraw, IBM Rhapsody) and familiarity with modeling languages and architecture frameworks such as SysML and DoDAF (including UPDM/UAF profiles)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
