About this role


Responsibilities

Arcfield is looking for a motivated Image Scientist to support image quality analysis of EO remote sensing data and project support to analysis, initialization, product development and user exploitation concerns.

 

  • Candidate should have technical experience in image analysis for electro-optical systems (PAN, IR, LIDAR, RADAR, OPIR, etc.).
  • Experience in spectral and hyper-spectral (HSI) data is particularly desirable. Examples of relevant expertise may include radiometric or thermometric analysis, MTF and SNR assessments, exploitation algorithm development, image processing, modeling and simulation, and Fourier analysis.
  • Candidate should possess familiarity with image processing tools and methods such at ENVI/IDL, MATLAB, Python, etc.

Qualifications

 

Required:

  • Must possess and be able to maintain an active TS/SCI Clearance w/ Poly
  • BS 12-15, MS 10-13, PhD 10+
  • Bachelor’s degree in Image Science, Optics, Applied Physics, Mathematics, or Engineering with 10 or more years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability to perform technical analysis of EO remote sensing data; image processing and digital signal processing experience; image chain analysis
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills; demonstrated ability to clearly explain technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability and success working independently and in team environments
  • Customer focused and capable of representing the customer in user outreach, familiarity activities and community forums
  • Experience developing/modifying engineering code in at least one of Python, MATLAB, ENVI/IDL or similar to solve hard problems and create processes for repeatable results
 

Desired:

  • Project management or leadership experience
  • Experience working on product initialization teams
  • Experience with one or more of PAN, IR, MSI, HSI systems and analysis
  • Experience developing/modifying engineering code in multiple of Python, MATLAB, ENVI/IDL or similar to solve hard problems and create processes for repeatable results
  • Experience in atmospheric correction (MODTRAN) and hyperspectral exploitation toolsets also desired.
