Responsibilities

Roles & Responsibilities

Assembly/Fabrication (90%)

  • Perform precision, spaceflight critical, assembly and test on spaceflight, ground based, and optical components. 
  • Read work orders, follow production drawing and sample assemblies or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed. 
  • Crimp, stake, screw, bolt, rivet, weld, solder, cement, press fit, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
  • Mount assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets on chassis panel.
  • Connect component lead wires to printed circuits or route and connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
  • Install finished assemblies or sub-assemblies in cases and enclosures.
  • Assemble and attach hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches to assemblies.
  • Perform assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating and color-coding parts and assemblies.
  • Tend machines that press, mark, drill or wind component parts.
  • Adjust or trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics. 
  • Devise, fabricate and assemble new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for product.
  • Knowledgeable in MCAD or ECAD software to design and create assembly, part or cable drawings of products.

Lab Processes (10%)

  • Development of assembly and test processes, procedures and systems.
  • Adhere and Enforce Lab Practices and Safety Protocols.

Qualifications

Required:

  • BS 0-2 
  • Ability to stand/sit for extended periods of time, ability to lift 50lbs

Preferred:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience
  • NASA 8739 workmanship standards or equivalent IPC/WHMA standards

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. In addition, Arcfield invests in its employees beyond just compensation. Min: $61,181.08 Max: $106,382.03
