Duties and Responsibilities / KPI’s
Onboarding
- Assist in the coordination of onboarding activities, including new hire orientation sessions and documentation.
- Prepare onboarding materials, including welcome kits, forms, and policy handouts, for new employees.
- Support in the scheduling of onboarding sessions and ensure meeting spaces and logistics are in place.
- Help ensure all new hire documentation is completed, signed, and stored in employee files and the HRIS.
- Coordinate with IT, Admin, and other departments for workstation set-up, ID cards, systems access, and uniforms.
- Update onboarding checklists and follow up with departments to ensure timely completion of onboarding tasks.
- Act as a contact point for new employees for basic onboarding-related inquiries.
Mobilization
- Assist in the logistical coordination of employee mobilization, including travel and accommodation bookings.
- Support the tracking and collection of pre-employment documents (e.g., medical reports, IDs, photos).
- Communicate mobilization updates to relevant departments and track timelines for employee arrivals.
- Coordinate with transport, housing, and facilities teams to prepare for incoming employees.
- Provide logistical support to expats during their arrival and onboarding process (e.g., airport pick-up, housing).
- Assist in gathering and submitting required documentation for expat onboarding and mobilization needs.
Administrative Support
- Maintain records and tracking tools related to onboarding and mobilization.
- Ensure that all communication with new hires is professional, timely, and informative.
- Prepare reports or summaries as required by the Senior Officer or HR Business Partners.
Employee Development
- Participate in personal Training and Development to improve skills
Qualifications / Experience / Technical Knowledge
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years’ professional work experience, within a HR role.
Technical Knowledge:
- A proven track record of successful onboarding processes.
- Strong knowledge of onboarding best practices, HR policies and procedures, and the Liberia Descent Work Act (DWA).
Desirable
- Prior experience in similar roles in Liberia

- Strong organizational skills to manage and streamline the onboarding process efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English to build rapport with new employees and establish a positive onboarding experience.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills to coordinate and manage multiple onboarding processes simultaneously.
- Adaptability and flexibility to accommodate the diverse needs and backgrounds of new employees.
- Proven ability to deliver results.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML) is operating inside Liberia since 2006, where we are employing approximately 1600 employees and about 1000 contractors mainly in the area of security as well as in transactional manual work like Bush cutting keeping the railway and our concession area free of natural overgrowth, as well as putting tarpaulins on the railcars etc.
In Liberia we are running operations, spread over three locations, our harbour, and our Main offices in Buchanan, and the Nimba region the mines, existing of multiple mining locations at Tokadeh, Gangar and Yuelliton and a Crushing plant and rail loading facility, serviced by our own accommodation settlement in Yekepa.
These locations are all connected with a 260 km Railroad, operated, and managed by AML, as per the MDA between ArcelorMittal and the government of Liberia.
Currently 5 mtpa iron ore (DSO -Direct Shipping Ore) are produced, which will be phased out in the next few years and replaced with Iron Ore Concentrate. The Phase 2 project aims to increase export of Iron Ore to 15 mtpa (concentrate). This was restarted end 2020 after it was put on hold in 2014 due to Ebola outbreak in. Significant civil construction work was already well advanced when the project was put on hold. Phase 2 of the project consist of an iron ore concentrator at the mine, rehabilitation and upgrade of Rail line, and a new iron ore bulk handling terminal in the port.
