Job purpose:

You will join our Structural Engineering team in the Arcadis Iasi office, part of the Mobility GBA, where our projects and development opportunities can fit various ambitions from structural engineering, 3D modeling and parametric design to Operate & Maintain digital methods. The delivery is secured through global collaboration platforms like ACC, which allows engineers across various offices to work together seamlessly while maintaining clear visibility for our clients.

Your role will include, but is not limited to:

• Use technical knowledge and experience to apply technical and practical engineering production skills in a BIM environment for typically larger and more complex projects
• Apply the knowledge and experience of BIM to create 3D digital models for civil structures using industry-standard BIM software like Revit and AutoCAD.
• Produce accurate and detailed geometric representations of infrastructure assets and components, or different complex resilient and civilian buildings.
• Participate in the production of 2D drawings from BIM models, ensuring that drawings adhere to specified drafting standards and procedures and that the drawing submission schedule is met.
• Support the design, development, manufacture and construction of products, equipment, processes, systems or services
• Engage in clash detection and resolution to prevent and solve/adjust conflicts in the models.
• Deliver and collaborate with project teams to ensure BIM models meet project requirements such as time, budget and quality and comply with project and company standards.
• Maintain the accuracy and consistency of BIM models throughout the project lifecycle.
• Have progressed through the role of BIM Modeller. Typically, would be able to use 3 or more modelling software packages.
• Knowledge sharing with others, team working spirit.

Qualifications:

• Relevant Civil Engineering or a related field degree
• Proven experience as a BIM Modeller, with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
• Have a track record in designing specialised structural elements such as bridge decks, abutments, piles, or retaining walls
• Proficiency in BIM software (Eg, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and MicroStation)
• Demonstrate an analytical mindset and a proactive attitude toward self-directed learning and professional development
• Experienced in reinforced concrete, reinforced and prestressed, competent in plans detailing/bill of quantities; steel and/or composite structural engineering knowledge awareness.
• Ability and interest in learning and developing new technologies and automation processes
• Ability to guide and check the work of other team members
• Operate as a competent technician within a single area of work with little supervision
• Proficiency in the modelling of multiple elements of a project and how it ultimately interfaces with the client
• Display exceptional command of technical English terminology and communication skills.
• BIM Standards understanding and usage
• Work with other design disciplines to ensure the integration of the overall design or solution
• Undertake production checking of work in progress to ensure that it meets design intent
• Successfully complete assigned BIM modelling work within budget and deadlines
• Work out the design, add data to the model within the BIM environment and generate graphical and (alpha)numeric output
• Make optimal use of software capabilities and make suggestions for expanding and developing software tools and/or adjustments of the BIM Model
• Clash detection and resolution capabilities using tools

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with parametric design and scripting languages, such as Dynamo or Grasshopper
• Integrate point cloud data and survey information into BIM models.
• Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices, including ISO 19650
• Ability to create custom families and templates to enhance BIM workflows
• Experience in BIM modelling various assets: residential or water assets
• Have knowledge of BIM processes
• Have knowledge of CDM Regulations and the use of hazard identification and risk assessment during design development
• Multilingual proficiency in languages like Dutch, French and German
• Proficient in relevant desktop applications
• Professional certifications and accreditation;
