Role description:
Arcadis is looking for a Soil Characterization Intern with a technical background (engineering, geology or related discipline), who will be involved in the planning and organization of environmental investigation on different sites all over Italy, with a strong focus on Health&Safety management.
Role accountabilities:
- Supporting the Project Manager in planning and organizing environmental soil investigations for sites in different market sectors (Energy, Logistics, Industrial…);
- Dealing with field geologists and subcontractors on site;
- Preparing the preliminary safety documentation for the site activities, according to national legislation;
- Preparing the preliminary Client’s permits/certifications requested for the site activities, according to their internal quality management system;
- Engaging with the Client’s H&S people to ensure compliance with legal and internal requirements;
- Collaborating in the preparation of final investigation technical reports.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Sciences, or equivalent qualification;
- Basic knowledge of environmental regulations (D.Lgs.152/06) and workplace safety laws (D.Lgs. 81/08);
- Genuine interest in safety management;
- Good organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks;
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills;
- Proficiency in MS Office suite;
- Excellent language level in Italian and English (B2 or above).
Work Location: Milan (hybrid)
Contract Type: Internship, 40-hours work week.
