The Senior Cloud Engineer builds, supports, and enhances Aqua’s Microsoft Azure cloud environments. This role works closely with the Cloud Architect, development, and security teams to implement cloud infrastructure, automate deployments, monitor performance and cost, and troubleshoot complex issues. The Senior Cloud Engineer also supports escalated incidents, participates in on-call rotations, and helps ensure Aqua’s cloud platform is secure, reliable, and aligned with industry best practices.
Essential Functions
Lead the deployment and management of secure, scalable Azure cloud infrastructure in alignment with Cloud Architect designs
Support and maintain Azure IaaS and PaaS resources, including virtual networks, virtual machines, storage, App Services, and Azure Active Directory
Implement and manage infrastructure-as-code using ARM templates and Bicep
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions
Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, and cost using tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and DataDog
Partner with developers, security, and architecture teams to ensure cloud solutions meet business, security, and compliance requirements
Troubleshoot complex cloud issues and provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support, including participation in an on-call rotation
Document cloud architecture, configurations, and operational procedures using Visio and Confluence
Collaborate with the Cloud Architect on research and continuous improvement to ensure cloud practices align with industry standards
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or commensurate work experience required
5+ years of work experience in cloud engineering
AZ-104 Azure Administrator Certification
Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, including core services and governance in an enterprise environment
Experience building and/or supporting AKS environments
Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) using Bicep and DevOps practices
Experience in networking, identity management, and security in cloud environments
Experience with hybrid cloud environments and on-premises integration in an enterprise environment
Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, Azure CLI, or Bash
Background in networking and Windows Server
Strong communication skills with demonstrated experience presenting strategy and solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to work independently or collaboratively
Strong attention to detail and accuracy

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, visualize, talk, hear, and handle or touch objects or controls. The employee may occasionally lift, push, or pull up to twenty pounds. This position is an office-based position where you must be able to sit for extended periods of time. The employee will be working on a computer 90% of the time.
