About this role

Web Application Developer (Back-End)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work as a web developer on a team designing and developing our class-leading web-based automotive business intelligence tool.
  • Develop RESTful and/or gRPC APIs in Go and Java to support web applications and internal microservices.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, success engineers, programmers, and others to design systems and to obtain information on performance requirements and interfaces.
  • Work with users to develop and implement acceptance test plans to ensure that product meets customer requirements and expectations.
  • Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Stay current in training of the latest software and computer technology.
  • Review work of other developers to ensure quality standards.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
(R – required, P – preferred, B –bonus)

  • R – Professional experience with Go, or strong interest in becoming proficient with it.
  • R – Solid grasp of data structures, concurrency, and distributed system fundamentals.
  • P – Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or similar.
  • P – 3+ years of experience in Web application development.
  • P – Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.
  • P – Experience with software testing, including unit testing frameworks.
  • P – Experience writing and maintaining Java backend services.
  • P – Familiarity with Terraform or Terragrunt for cloud infrastructure provisioning.
  • P – Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, or other container/orchestration technology.
  • B – Experience writing TypeScript, particularly in the context of modern frontend frameworks or backend tooling.
  • B – Knowledge of HTTP/gRPC performance tuning, observability, or monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, etc.).
