Performs ultrasound imaging studies in accordance with physician orders and departmental guidelines. Preparesand transports patients as necessary.Prepares imaging equipment, room, and images, as need for interpretationVerifies and completes studies in RIS and PACSMaintains Quality Control on Equipment as Instructed.
1. Performs such exams as abdominal echoes, renal, aorta, thyroid, pelvic, obstetrical, bio physical profiles,vascular studies, testicular and breasts. Color flow studies, doppler studies, renal biopsies and fluid collectionsof localized areas.2. Checks all images with the radiologist; consults with the radiologist about the reading of scansand reports.3. Provides written, unofficial reports of examinations.4. Takes representative anatomical pictures, recognizes normal versus abnormal anatomy,and exhibits knowledge of various pathological processes.5. Marks images for proper definition and explanation.6. Available for on call status, as needed.7. Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to generalsafety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.8. Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens.9. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellowemployees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.10. Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- andintradepartmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives.

Associate's Degree Associate Degree in Sonography from approved program-OR Associate Degree in Radiology from approved program, minimumally Required
