About this role

Overview

The DME Customer Service Representative is responsible for performing various typing and clerical tasks, DME patient intake including answering phone calls in a professional manner and  processing patient requests, maintenance of patient files including scanning all documents required to properly bill DME,

Responsibilities

Types correspondence, reports, forms, cards, and requisitions, etc., through the use of a computer and email.

 

Operates office machines such as photocopiers, postage meters, adding machines, printers, scanners, and fax machines.

 

Monitors documents, which either originate within or pass through the department, by an effective logging, posting, or filing system.

 

Searches files to retrieve correspondence, reports, and records.

 

Answers telephone, routes calls, takes messages for the department in a professional manner

 

Receives, sorts, and distributes mail.

 

Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

               Assists in taking physical inventory.

 

Coordinates the distribution of or distributes supplies/equipment to clients/caregivers, or agency staff, as appropriate.

 

               Receives and assists customers entering agency complex.

 

Enters date of receipt and quantity of items received on proper purchase order computer screen and posts information daily into computer system pertaining to partial or complete shipments received; posts other information as required to update stocks. 

 

Operates Horizon Homecare programs on computer.  Working knowledge of Citrix, Dyna Com, Star software.  Post and verify patient charges and balance billing.  Run reports and check lists, visit log and process bills to forward to System Center.

 

 

 

Qualifications

POSITION PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Must possess physical ability to endure prolonged sitting, moderate walking and lifting and carrying; exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.  Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work.

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

 

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.  Six months or 1 year's experience desired.

 

Competent in computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel

 

Must possess good verbal and written skills and thorough knowledge of filing, posting and records maintenance methods.

 

One (1) month to three (3) months on-the-job training will be required to attain proficiency of performance of assigned duties and responsibilities.
