Responsibilities of this role
- Portfolio and Investment Planning and Management
- Work closely with leadership to understand the Tech strategy within the region and align current and proposed ABS enabling initiatives and investments accordingly. Collaborate with interested parties to ensure the portfolio of initiatives identified for execution are in line with strategy, investment guidelines and deliver business outcomes.
- Collaborate equally with business change leaders to ensure proposed ABS initiatives drive not only technical advancement but also process transformation, business readiness, and adoption
- Develop strong relationships with key partners / interested parties and peers, including TMOs and the VRO Regional lead for APAC.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and business functions, translating business needs into technical requirements and vice versa
- Evaluate the portfolio / road map and help develop plans for accomplishing the roadmap.
- Direct and oversee initiatives demonstrating established VRO stage gate processes from idea through discovery, case approval, program delivery and value realization.
- Value & Benefits Realization Management
- Partner with the relevant APAC Leadership Team member and business partners to establish key business outcomes, measures, key performance indicators (targets) and metrics to measure the impact, effectiveness and success of ABS enabling initiatives. This includes defining case targets, benefits realization processes to measure progress, and regular reporting on the achieved delivery, value and benefits to interested parties.
- Develop value realization frameworks that explicitly include both technical targets and business adoption/success metrics (e.g., process efficiency, user adoption rates, commercial outcomes)
- Lead benefit tracking with input from both technology and business change teams, ensuring accountability on both sides
- Program Governance, Reporting & Assurance
- Lead regional APAC technical portfolio governance meetings and drive leadership communication across the portfolio including:
- Support definition of program scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and interested parties.
- Ensure resource planning is done for all project work within the portfolio.
- Ensure programs are consistently governed, using defined progress reporting templates.
- Ensure full-scale program plans and associated communications documents are developed.
- Effectively set, communicate, and manage program expectations with team members and interested parties in a timely and clear fashion.
- Evaluate effectiveness of program management team and provide transparency and critical issue where required.
- Call out risks and opportunities related to business change (not just technical delivery) and proactively address barriers to adoption and impact
- Continuous Improvement & Change Management
- Analyze, recommend, and drive process and program improvements across portfolio and functional teams.
- Guide & support communications, change management and interested party alignment efforts within the portfolio and across APAC and business interested parties as needed.
- Lead and model standard methodologies in change management, including interested party mapping and engagement, communications planning, training needs analysis, and post-implementation support
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement spanning both technical delivery and business transformation, using feedback loops from business units

- Technical Expertise:

- Recognized and accredited professional project management training and certification (such as PMP, PfMP, PMI-ACP or equivalent) preferred but not required.
- Experience of working within a cross-functional organization supporting both technical and business projects.
- Experience of agile working practices and methodologies
- Experience of leading transformational programs
- Ability to coach and develop team colleagues to improve their technical, business and financial foresight
- Demonstrated experience leading business transformation initiatives or large-scale change programs, preferably in a matrixed global organization
- Strong track record of driving adoption and behavioral change at all organizational levels
- Ability to challenge assumptions, influence without authority, and broker consensus between diverse business and technology interested parties
- Experience in designing and implementing API REST swagger definitions for endpoint/payload design, API security, monitoring and management etc.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python/Ruby, Javascript and any declarative programming for data mapping e.g. Scriban, XSL.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud incl. Azure APIm, Azure Functions, container-based applications.
- Some experience with python in Databricks and virtual warehousing is a plus.
- Agile knowledge – Scrum, Kanban, TDD and other practices.
- Experience in commercial insurance industry a plus.
- College degree in IT-related subject area
