About the Role

As a Solution Designer in the NZ Domain, you’ll play a key role in shaping technology solutions. The role is responsible for creating solution designs and implementation patterns for current and future initiatives within the Tech Personal area, with a specific focus on Business Services, MBP, and Channel Integrations.

The role will generate solution design options that meet business intent, adhere to ANZ approved design patterns or standards and align with ANZ’s Technology Strategy and Transformation Roadmap, providing guidance on desirability, usability, feasibility and viability to ensure solution delivery is achievable within cost, time and quality constraints.

The role will involve creating and adhering to design patterns, ensuring design patterns are implemented where applicable, creation of designs whilst ensuring there is solid governance around changes.

What will your day look like?

• Leading the solution design throughout the delivery lifecycle 
• Responsible for soultion design & Detailed Design FAD 
• Leading the design of API and Eventing solutions using BIAN framework 
• Dedicated to assisting delivery teams with technical leadership throughout delivery 
• Create ADRs to resolve design issues 
• Work with Data Modellers, Staff Engineers, delivery teams and Project Stakeholders to provide shared clarity 
• Work across feature teams to identify and solve design issues 
• Build design patterns and standards 
• Alignment and adherence with ANZ IT strategy, governance policies, processes and standards and with external regulatory requirements. 
• Identify technology risk and security issues within division and determine remediation plans, in line with the SRE Security and AAA engineers. 
• Contribute to the effective management of risks and issues associated with Solution designs 

What will you bring?

• Must have 12+ years of relevant industry experience in solution design and related technologies
• Experience as a Solution Designer, designing, developing, and delivering integrated solutions.
• Expertise in cloud technologies (AWS or GCP)
• Extensive experience in leading Microservices/API as a Solution Designer
• Extensive experience in leading NodeJS design & development at an enterprise level
• Extensive experience working on API Gateways
• Experience in Java design at an enterprise level (Spring Boot, Java 8+, Spring)
• Extensive experience leading API design (REST/JSON, Kafka, message queues)
• In depth technical knowledge of database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Mongo)
• Experience working with Continuous Delivery/Continuous Integration pipelines
• Experience working with Microservices on AWS (EKS, Codefresh, GitHub Actions).
• Solid DevOps knowledge including
• Configuring continuous integration, deployment, and delivery tools like Jenkins, or GitLab Cl
• Container-based development using platforms like Docker
