As a Specialist in our Financial Control team, you’ll play a key role in providing accounting and reporting services for our Treasury, Markets and Securitisation business units to support the Financial Controller and the business.

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like

 

As a Financial Control Specialist, you are accountable for:

 

  • Supporting the offshore hub team in their delivery of daily P&Ls, balance sheet reconciliations and the monthly financial close process; undertaking appropriate governance activities to ensure the accuracy of financial information in compliance with ANZ accounting policies and processes; appropriate resolution and/or escalation of issues
  • Producing accurate and timely reporting packs and analytical review for the business units
  • Communicating financial results and insightful analysis to stakeholders, including reporting of actual performance
  • Supporting the timely response of auditor requests and queries during the half year and end of year close
  • Simplifying, standardising and/or automating tasks and processes where possible
  • Maintaining collaborative relationships with other management functions to enable effective exchange of information required to support general accounting services
  • Supporting business operations activities (e.g. accounting for new transactions or product variations, simplification of processes, system changes and other business initiatives)

To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Experience in Finance roles (around 5 years), with some exposure to Treasury and/or Markets functions being an advantage
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles and IFRS
  • A detail oriented, curious, and pragmatic problem-solving mindset
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate and collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including off-shore
  • Strong analytical skills with clear and concise verbal and written communication
