<p>Antora is searching for a self-driven, people-centered Maintenance Manager to help deliver zero-carbon industrial heat and power through our first-of-a-kind Thermal Energy Storage (TES) power plant at Big Stone. We are a tight-knit, mission-driven team that values humility, collaboration, and impact—and we are building something that matters.</p>
<p>The Maintenance Manager will build, lead, and inspire the Big Stone maintenance function through construction, commissioning, and ongoing operations. This role blends hands-on technical leadership with strong people management, safety stewardship, and cross-functional collaboration. As a key technical and people leader on site, you will directly contribute to the successful demonstration and scaling of Antora’s long-duration energy storage technology.</p>
<h3><strong>Roles & Responsibilities</strong></h3>
<h4>1. Lead, Inspire, and Develop the Maintenance Organization</h4>
<ul>
<li>Build, coach, and motivate a high-performing maintenance team grounded in ownership, accountability, and pride in craftsmanship.</li>
<li>Create an inclusive, engaging work environment that encourages learning, development, and continuous improvement for employees and contractors.</li>
<li>Provide clear direction, regular feedback, and thoughtful performance evaluations; support training, promotions, and career growth.</li>
<li>Actively participate in recruiting and selecting top maintenance talent aligned with Antora’s mission and values.</li>
<li>Coordinate staffing plans, schedules, and workloads to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution.</li>
</ul>
<h4>2. Ensure Safe, Reliable, and Efficient Plant Operations</h4>
<ul>
<li>Champion a strong culture of safety, ensuring full compliance with safety, health, and regulatory requirements at all times.</li>
<li>Develop, implement, and continuously improve maintenance strategies, standards, and SOPs for Antora’s first TES power plant.</li>
<li>Ensure equipment is well maintained, operates reliably at capacity, and delivers high-quality output.</li>
<li>Oversee and delegate maintenance and operational activities across commissioning, control room operations, crane operations, IC&E, plant and vehicle maintenance, and water treatment.</li>
<li>Review, verify, and sign off on contractor work, ensuring all scope, quality, and safety requirements are met.</li>
<li>Read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and electrical schematics; provide redlines and field guidance as needed.</li>
</ul>
<h4>3. Collaborate, Plan, and Execute Across the Organization</h4>
<ul>
<li>Serve as the primary technical interface between engineering, operations, maintenance teams, and external partners during installation, commissioning, and operations.</li>
<li>Translate high-level objectives into actionable maintenance plans, timelines, and resource strategies.</li>
<li>Make informed decisions on resource allocation, budgeting, and execution to meet cost, schedule, and performance targets.</li>
<li>Contribute to the creation and management of the plant operating budget, with outcomes directly impacting cost control and site performance.</li>
<li>Capture learnings from Big Stone and R&D efforts to help shape Antora’s maintenance playbook for future project sites.</li>
<li>Provide clear, constructive feedback to internal teams and collaborate to continuously improve plant design, operability, and maintainability.</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>Key Qualifications</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>High school diploma, technical/vocational training, or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Proven experience leading and developing teams in industrial plant operations.</li>
<li>10+ years of hands-on experience in industrial operations or maintenance; thermal energy storage experience strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Strong mechanical background, including critical lifts, welding, pumps, motors, and fluid systems.</li>
<li>Solid understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and safe installation and repair of motors, panels, and control circuits.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity and operate effectively in first-of-a-kind or rapidly evolving environments.</li>
<li>Proficient with standard computer applications (spreadsheets, databases, documentation tools).</li>
<li>Willingness to relocate to the Big Stone project site.</li>
</ul>

<p data-start="2330" data-end="2526">This is an active, field-based role involving outdoor work in variable conditions.</p>
<p>Work Location: Onsite - Big Stone City, South Dakota</p>
<p>Salary Range: $124,440 - $149,600 </p>
<p>Please note that the salary range listed above reflects Antora Energy's estimated pay for this position. The actual salary offered will be within the posted range and determined based on several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experiences, credentials and expertise, as they pertain to the position's requirements.</p>
