Performance Improvement Practice Overview

Our Performance Improvement practice provides extensive industry expertise combined with data-driven, objective, and innovative approaches to the most complex business challenges. Our team has worked with numerous clients to build value and accelerate business performance through strategy setting and execution, business and operating model design, acquisition and merger support, market-entry strategy, and channel and product strategy.


Responsibilities

· Initiates and converts business opportunities and collaborates with other Senior Managing Directors to sell and deliver engagements that generate $3 - $5 million+ annually

· Guides the Ankura team and Client regarding analytical approach and methodologies

· Manages multiple complex initiatives and analyzes the outlook of retail operations concepts

· Acts as a key facilitator of the engagement with various constituencies

· Oversees work across multiple engagements

· Effectively works with client and engagement team to set expectations regarding timelines which satisfy client needs and are achievable with the resources available to the engagement team

· Engages with key constituencies as part of drafting report to ensure approach is consistent with external expectations

· Provide guidance to team(s) as to overall communication strategy, argument structure, and key messaging

· Establishes and maintains relationship with most senior client executives

· Provides engagement leadership to Ankura team and Client


Requirements:

· Minimum 20 years of relevant consulting experience focused on one or more of the following areas:

o Sales & Marketing effectiveness, processes, incentives

o Distribution & Logistics, Network Modeling

o Manufacturing and Contract Manufacturing

o Direct & Indirect Procurement

o SG&A cost reduction

o Information Technology and Digital Improvements

· The successful candidate must be a commercial leader able to drive revenue growth and capture market share

· A successful track record of generating $3 - $5 million+ annually and personally billing in the $900+ / hour range

· The candidate will possess a strong personal brand within the Retail Industry and have deep market-making relationships across the relevant law firms, investment banks, corporates etc. resulting in a robust flow of inbound calls and bookings

· An undergraduate degree from a top academic institution; advanced degree(s) and applicable professional certification(s) are preferred

· Expertise in defining, influencing, and driving change at executive levels and across the broader community of stakeholders

· Exceptional negotiation skills with complex/sophisticated situations involving executive and board-level stakeholders

· Able to develop credible recommendations under shortened time constraints and imperfect information

· High energy style, flexible and adaptive, with the ability to work well in a very fast paced environment

· Ability to adapt to complex client environments and situations

· Proven track record of effectively planning for and proactively mitigating risks on engagements

· Quickly recognizes critical areas requiring analysis and review while understanding the big picture

· Experience synthesizing complex unstructured information rapidly and applies good business judgment driving quickly to deep insights into possible impacts and solutions

· Expert written communication skills, self-directed with preparation of client ready document and presentation development

· Articulate, persuasive, communicator who is adept at handling executive and difficult audiences well including ability to adapt style to audience
