We are looking for a ‘rising star’ to complement our talented team of delay experts. Our construction dispute resolution professionals provide expert advice and independent professional opinion on some of the world’s largest, most complex, and high-profile capital project disputes. Courts, corporations, and tribunals rely on us to get to the nub of the issue in any given dispute. We develop efficient and robust delay analyses and present our conclusions in a clear, concise, and objective manner to enable the resolution of complex disputes.

This is a key role, operating in a fast-paced culture, and will suit a candidate with the ambition and desire to grow and develop in the dispute’s world, whilst we provide the opportunity and training to support you in that endeavour, including excellent networking opportunities. The role will involve frequent client interaction, including preparing and presenting results. 

You will have the opportunity to work with highly reputable, specialist expert witnesses.. You will be part of a talented team of experts working on some of the world’s most interesting and significant project disputes.

You will work from our Melbourne office. However, the international nature of our work means that successful candidates should be prepared to travel within the region, sometimes at short notice.

Requirements:

  • You will be an experienced people manager running small teams, comfortable delegating and actively supporting the development of junior members of the team.

  • Whilst experience of giving evidence / testifying isn’t necessary at this stage, you will have an aspiration to do so in the future,

  • You may not yet be generating leads but may be starting to get appointments in your own right and are comfortable actively networking.

  • You will have a background in construction or engineering with a related degree.

  • Professional chartered membership e.g. RICS, ICE.

  • Broad experience across a range of large infrastructure construction projects (oil & gas, infrastructure, buildings, public works).

  • Demonstrable Planning or Project Management experience skills including compiling and/or reviewing claims.

  • Have a good understanding of project control and management systems.

  • Be able to analyse and assess project data and documentation.

  • Excellent report writing skills.

  • Experienced in the production of comprehensive delay analyses and high-quality graphics.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Good analytical and data management skills.

  • Problem solver with an enquiring mind.

  • Good team working skills and the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure within a team or as an individual.

  • Travel flexible both national and international.
