LANGUAGE SUPPORT TEACHER - ENGLISH AS AN ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE (EAL)– January – June 2026 Leo Hayes High School Description: The LST-EAL will provide sheltered (small group) and in-class support for numeracy and literacy to identified long-term (5+ years) MLLs. The successful candidate will collaborate with their school team, the ASD-W Lead team, and DEI Facilitator within ASD-W. The District EAL-LST is responsible for the development of materials and resources that align with exemplary MLL instruction, and assessment practice in K-12 classrooms. The successful candidate will have demonstrable knowledge of materials to support K-12 Multilingual Language Learners (MLLs) and accurate alignment with the Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR). They will have had recent experience supporting MLLs in sheltered groups as well as in inclusive classroom settings. They should have knowledge on current research on better practice for content instruction specific to MLLs along with the social/cultural/and emotional adjustment needs of newcomers. The candidate will also understand and align instruction to interests and cultural components of MLLs
