Job Responsibilities

Plans facilities changes for plant, office, and production equipment layouts, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations.

Leads architecture/engineering firms and company engineers in developing initial project design criteria, layouts, and schematic drawings for industrial construction projects. Develops criteria and performance specifications to meet unique factory/ research lab operating requirements and building safety codes. Leads engineers, consultants, and company procurement professionals to develop construction and facility acquisition bid documents. Engages with legal to originate construction contract agreements consistent with project scope, value, and company risk profile. Reviews and estimates design and project construction costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, start-up preparation, and other related costs. Inspects construction site and attends the contractor led progress meetings to monitory conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.

  • Understands legal concepts and commercial terms and conditions of traditional construction contracting instruments
  •  Demonstrated construction project cost control experience with responsibility for presenting monthly project status reports and revised capital forecasts to company finance executives
  •  Strong safety culture
  •  Capable of supporting multiple concurrent projects and assignments related to HVAC, Electrical, Controls, Plumbing and General Maintenance
  • Values internal and cross-functional teamwork to solve problems
  •  Demonstrated ability to work directly with mechanical/electrical/civil contractors and service providers to ensure delivery of operational result
  •  Assertive nature and willingness to support customer needs when challenged
  •  Thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy work environment
  •  Demonstrated proficiency in problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills
  • Minimum of 8 - 10 years of related work experience and a bachelor’s degree in electrical or equivalent
  • Certification in Const. Project. Management (PMBOK, etc) or Registered as a Professional Engineer in the Board of Engineer(BEM) or Registered Energy Manager under Suruhanjaya Tenaga is preferred
  • Knowledge in world class property/facility insurer requirements like FMGlobal, Allianz, etc.
  • Knowledgeable in renewable energy sources, like solar PV and battery storage systems
  • Recent construction project management experience leading construction projects >25M US
  • Experience working with procurement teams to develop qualified bidders lists and leading competitive sourcing for construction projects
  • Proficient with construction scheduling software such as Microsoft Projects
  • Knowledge of construction means and methods employed in electronics and semiconductor factory projects
  • Cleanroom construction project experience
  • Other duties as assigned
