Electronics Technician, Hardware Design 

Analog Devices (ADI) is seeking a Electronics Technician / Lab Technician to join our solutions team that supports a broad range of industry leading high-performance solutions and standard products in end applications such as industrial automation, instrumentation, automotive, healthcare and communication systems. 

The Electronics Technician is responsible for supporting our engineering and product development teams. As part of a cross functional team, the Electronics Technician will work hands-on with electronic assemblies, prototypes, test equipment, and lab instrumentation to ensure reliable performance and smooth project execution.

Responsibilities include 

  • Assembling and testing electronic circuits, PCB assemblies, and wiring harnesses in accordance with design requirements.
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of electronic components and assemblies to ensure proper functionality.
  • Providing support for prototype builds, hardware validation activities, and design verification testing.
  • Overseeing the management, maintenance, and proper operation of lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, and soldering stations.
  • Managing inventory of electrical and mechanical components for PCB assembly and mechanical building activities.
  • Engaging in cross-functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree or associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in electronics assembly, troubleshooting, or lab tech roles.
  • Strong proficiency with soldering (through-hole and SMD), rework, and PCB handling.
  • Familiarity with electronic test equipment and measurement techniques.
  • Knowledge of electronics principles and ability to read and interpret complex schematics, datasheets, and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Experience with prototype or R&D environments is preferred.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with firmware flashing, microcontroller development boards, or embedded systems.
  • Knowledge of IPC standards for soldering and rework.
  • Experience with CAD tools (Altium, KiCad, Orcad) and mechanical CAD for test fixtures.
  • Experience with 3D printing of mechanical components
  • Familiarity with automation tools (Python, test automation frameworks) is a plus.
