Marketing Manager

AMGUARD Environmental Technologies (“AMGUARD”) is seeking an experienced Marking Manager to strengthen the AMGUARD marketing mission. This marketing position will report directly to AMGUARD’s Director of Marketing working across all AMGUARD specialty market segments – Public Health, Pest, Turf, Nursery, Ornamental, and Landscape. The AMGUARD Marketing Manager will bring industry experience and skills developing marketing analytics, conducting market and competitive research, and strengthening AMGUARD’s ability to measure and manage key marketing outcomes while working as a marketing generalist on a team focused on branding, digital marketing campaigns, and supporting commercial initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for a marketing professional with experience in AMGUARD’s specialty markets who is seeking an opportunity to work on a variety of marketing missions within an entrepreneurial, agile, growth-minded team.

Job Location: The Marketing Manager will be located in greater Research Triangle/Raleigh area and will work from AMGUARD’s offices in Morrisville, NC.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the leadership team to develop and execute winning strategies, processes, and channel business plans for AMGUARD to meet/exceed its business objectives. 
  • Plan, develop and execute strategic marketing initiatives to drive revenue and to achieve AMGUARD brand goals.
  • Manage digital marketing campaigns and vendors through a variety of channels, including but not limited to, web, SEO, pay-per-click, social and email.
  • Execute tactical marketing efforts that support overall strategy, such as writing, editing, building frameworks for new strategies.
  • Oversee all conference & event marketing strategies and tactical implementation of pre, post, and onsite marketing involvement.
  • Create, measure, track and analyze marketing campaigns to understand customer behavior and measure overall marketing success.
  • Manage marketing budgets and vendor relationships.
  • Identify and manage third-party suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key distributor accounts to expand the distribution of AMGUARD products nationally. 
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to implement and manage effective distributor incentive plans and programs to achieve distribution growth goals.
  • Collaborate with commercial team members to design strategic account plans for assigned channel accounts that will achieve both net sales and profitability targets.
  • Be accountable for Distribution / Channel sales operations and provide operational leadership nationally. 
  • Further develop and establish implementation to support Sales/Channel/Strategy Concepts and provide sales targets and measures.
  • Ensure ROI is aligned with AMGUARD business goals and objectives.
  • Provide expertise to advise and drive the strategic operations and contract analysis needed to support the goals, plans and KPIs of channel partners.
  • Collaborate with the executive management and Key Account Management (KAM) teams to develop winning strategies, business plans, sales plans, and budgets for AMGUARD to meet/exceed its business objectives.
  • Perform analysis of business opportunities and challenges through diverse sources of information including internal sales data, market research reports, competitive information, market observation, EDI data, financial P&L, etc.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to optimize focus and to align priorities to channel objectives.
  • Develop and execute in-depth portfolio product and competitive product analysis to identify product and technology gaps and opportunities.
  • Conduct ROI and financial analysis on proposed initiatives.
  • Communicate clearly with the leadership team and across the company in strategic, tactical, and financial terms.
  • Develop and execute a PR and thought leadership strategy in both existing and new markets.

Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 5+ years of experience marketing insect, weed, and plant disease control products services in US specialty markets. 
  • In-depth experience in planning and executing marketing programs including email campaigns, social media, conferences and events, PR releases, website, and inbound strategies.
  • Aptitude in current digital marketing technologies and best practices in optimization for digital channels.
  • Strong understanding of lead generation best practices.
  • 2+ years of proven leadership experience.
  • Experience working with distribution and channel partners in the industry.
  • Experience working under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong project management, communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
  • An entrepreneurial, agile, creative mindset that thrives in emerging-growth business environments.
  • A focus on leadership by example, a bias for results and execution, and the humility and confidence to put team success ahead of self.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management and staff effectively.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Excel spreadsheet development skills.
  • Financial acumen and strategic analysis skills.
  • Ability to make rapid decisions and pivot when necessary.
  • Strong written & oral communication skills; Power Point, Excel, and Word skills required.
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • A proven history of aligning organizations and stakeholders on key strategic and tactical initiatives.
