Summary -

Ensure consistent and efficient material flow across all departments, supporting production, maintenance, and overall operational success.


Accountabilities -

  • Strategic Procurement & Forecasting: Analyze market trends and production schedules to accurately forecast material needs and develop effective purchasing strategies.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring reliable delivery of quality materials and negotiating favorable terms.
  • Purchase Order & Inventory Control: Manage the end-to-end purchase order process, from initiation to delivery, and maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Quality Assurance & Communication: Ensure purchased materials meet quality standards and provide timely updates on material availability, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Cost Optimization: Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities to enhance profitability.

 

Scope and Dimensions -

  • Manages material procurement for the entire plant, collaborating with all departments (production, maintenance, etc.) to ensure timely and cost-effective supply.
  • Responsible for maintaining strong supplier relationships and optimizing inventory levels.
  • No direct reports.

Requirements -

  • Proven experience in procurement within a manufacturing environment (ideally synthetic materials or related industries).
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyze market trends, supplier data, and inventory levels.
  • Proficiency in forecasting material requirements and using procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory management.
