SR ASSOCIATE USER EXPERIENCE DESIGN

WHAT YOU WILL DO
We are seeking a highly skilled professional to user experience design of systems and processes within the Technology Enterprise Programs and Platforms organization. The role involves working closely with business and technology teams to evaluate and design solutions for Amgen’s key initiatives. You will drive system enhancements, ensure seamless integration between people and technology, and provide data analysis and design artifacts in addition to cultivating relationships with stakeholders and taking them on the journey.
The successful candidate will work in global teams, collaborate cross-functionally, and communicate effectively between business leaders, technical staff, and external vendors. Responsibilities also include risk assessment, documentation, user acceptance testing, and ensuring the high quality human-machine interactions.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Conducts and facilitates user research with stakeholders to collect data to inform design
Creates conceptual and visual prototypes using industry-standard user experience design tools (Figma, LucidSpark, etc)
Develops and conducts tests for prototypes with stakeholders for iterative design
Collaborates with development teams to ensure applications and processes align to design
Contributes with peer user experience professionals across Amgen to evolve the User Experience practice and standards
Reviews existing processes and technologies to inform iterative design and build
Navigates ambiguity within enterprise programs to research and design for value delivery
Partner with stakeholders to develop technology/business roadmaps
Partner with program management to communicate critical path, identify and manage risks
Help shape the technology portfolio through analysis contributions and the implementation of digital process solutions
Partners with business and technology teams to elicit, analyze, translate, and document business requirements into functional and non-functional requirements.
Review functional and technical requirements to identify areas of risk and/or missing requirements
Provide technical write-ups and drawings to promote the proposed solutions
Partners with business teams to conduct and/or support user acceptance testing.
Identifies and assess risks and dependencies for custom developments and other system changes

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU
Basic Qualifications and Experience:
Master's degree OR
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of Life Science/Biotechnology/Design/Information Systems experience OR
Diploma and 4 years of Life Science/Biotechnology/Design/Information Systems experience OR
10 years of Life Science/Biotechnology/Design/Information Systems experience
Must-Have Skills:
Experience with design tools like Figma
Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for tackling complex business challenges with technology
Experience with Agile software development methodologies (Scrum)
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity
Good-to-Have Skills:
Proficiency in project or program management
Expertise in implementing and supporting technology applications within the life sciences sector
Experience with complex enterprise-wide programs including M&A
Strong background in portfolio, timeline, resource, and financial management
Good understanding of software development lifecycles and basic system engineering principles, including object-oriented design, information risk, and security guidelines
Proficiency with data analysis and reporting using analytics, visualization, and database technologies
Familiarity with agile methodology and DevOps frameworks, thriving in collaborative team settings
Expertise in troubleshooting work products quickly and effectively
High learning agility to quickly adopt new technologies or learn new domains
Intellectual curiosity with the ability to critically engage thought partners across functional areas
