The Sr Associate Dev/Ops Engineer position offers a unique opportunity to join a fun, innovative engineering team within the AI & Data Science (AI&D) organization. You’ll work on next-generation capabilities and services in Applied AI & Automation using innovative COTS products, open-source software, frameworks, tools, and cloud computing services. The role also emphasizes demonstrating these capabilities to support critical business operations and initiatives, in ensuring quality, compliance, and performance across AMGEN’s Applied AI & Automation Footprint.

The Sr Associate Dev/Ops Engineer role is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing end-to-end Intelligent automation solutions that meet business needs. This role collaborates with architects, testers, engineers and business analysts to build high-quality, scalable and best-in-class automated solutions using top technologies. The engineer should possess knowledge of system architecture, effective problem-solving skills, and the capability to communicate technical concepts clearly, supporting the delivery of robust and scalable automations. The ideal candidate has strong experience in product management, Intelligent automation solutions engineering, excellent communication skills, and a good understanding of Agile methodologies.

  • Play a key role in working with a global team of Automation and DevOps engineers contributing to a growing internal AI & Automation Platforms and Solutions management practice.

  • Design, develop, and deploy automation workflows using UiPath, Power Automate, depending on system context and integration needs.

  • Integrate LLMs and AI services into RPA pipelines for intelligent document processing, contextual decision-making, summarization, chat-based interfaces, and GenAI-enhanced user workflows.

  • Develop prompt frameworks, API connectors, and modular AI building blocks using Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.

  • Work with Cross-Functional Teams and Business Process Owners to ensure automation aligns with AI&D’s digital product strategy.

  • Ensure Agile methodologies are strictly adhered to, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and iterative delivery of value.

  • Stay current with the latest AI/ML and GenAI tooling and actively contribute to internal knowledge-sharing forums

  • Effective product demonstrations for internal and external collaborators.

  • Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, reliable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.

  • Drive DevOps solution engineering practices for platform and solutions availability, performance monitoring, incident management, and cost optimization of AI and automation services

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of automation solutions, ensuring that they meet performance, security, and availability requirements

  • Analyze customer feedback and support data to identify pain points and opportunities for service improvement

  • Evaluate and recommend technologies and tools that best fit the solution requirements

  • Enforce data standards, governance policies, and best practices

Must-Have Skills:

  • Expertise in Intelligent Automation with experience in automations tools like UiPath & Power Automate, GenAI Tools/LLMs and Agentic AI.

  • Experience in working in engineering teams and working in agile methodology, including Product Teams and Product Development models

  • Design Patterns: Extensive knowledge of common automation and AI design patterns and their application in software development.

  • Technology Stack: Experience in a variety of programming languages like Python, automation and AI platforms like UiPath, Power Platform, development frameworks, and Cloud Platforms like AWS.

  • Experience directing solution design, business processes redesign and aligning business requirements to technical solutions in a regulated environment

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Knowledge of GenAI tooling: vector databases, RAG pipelines, prompt-engineering DSLs and agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Semantic Kernel).

  • Experience managing change and driving adoption of new digital technologies across large or regulated enterprises.

  • Strong solution design and problem-solving skills

  • Experience in developing differentiated and deliverable solutions

  • Ability to analyze client requirements and translate them into solutions
