The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of internal activities related to incoming inspection, process control, and quality assurance for products shipped to our customers. This role involves planning, implementing, and coordinating prevention, control, and quality assurance activities to meet the quality expectations of both our customers and the company.
Responsibilities:
Ensure the finished product meets our Customer’s specification.
Coordinate all activities of planning the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) of new products and processes
Determine and approve the Incoming Inspection methods for the components used in the products and areas under his responsibility.
Develop and maintain control plans for the production lines under his responsibility according to analysis of variation sources and customer requirements, and ensure documentation, training and monitoring is being carried out by the production staff.
Perform process audits to verify compliance with established standards (ISO 9001 and AS91000, Control Plans, Customer certifications, corrective actions, etc.)
Perform Internal Audits for NADCAP certification in special processes.
Ensure documentation and approval of process or product deviations, as well as obtaining Customer approval when this is required.
Generate and communicate quality alerts for internal and customer compliant.
Lead with manufacturing and engineering departments the identification (record), monitoring and elimination of major quality problems identified in the process through the use of quality tools
Collaborate with the Manufacturing department in the coordination of customer problem solving activities, including generate and document of 8D’s, and obtaining the necessary data for root cause analysis and determination of permanent corrective actions
Coordinate and participate in the activities of implementation and maintenance of the Quality System of the company.
Generate actions that prevent the occurrence of discrepancies related to the product, process and the Quality System, including put on hold the production area when required.
Control the process, shipment or disposal of non-conforming or discrepant product, until the deficiency or non-conforming condition is corrected.
Other activities identified by your supervisor according to the needs of the company.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, etc.).
Communication skills (Spanish & English)
Knowledge / Experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
Knowledge and practice of ISO9001 preferably AS9100 (Internal Audits).
5+ years in the Manufacture Industry as Quality Engineer, knowledge of production processes.
Knowledge and practice of problem solving methods such 8D, 5 why, Case or another quality tools existing method in the manufacturing industry.
Variation analysis techniques and process evaluation (PFMEA and Process Control Plan).
Statistical Process Control.
Interpretation of Engineering drawings interpretation (knowledge of geometric tolerances - GDT).
Coordinate and participate in product and process validation activities and Process Audits.
Management of equipment for product validation.
Knowledge of measuring tools.
