About this role
The Product Development Engineer will be responsible for researching, designing, prototyping, and testing new products to meet market and customer needs. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality, manufacturability, and compliance with safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market research to identify requirements for new product development.
- Understand customer needs and integrate findings into product goals and specifications.
- Conceptualize new product ideas using modeling software.
- Fabricate and test prototypes to identify and resolve design issues.
- Evaluate materials, manufacturing processes, and tolerances to optimize product design.
- Refine processes to prepare for full-scale production.
- Provide detailed product specifications and procedures to the manufacturing team.
- Analyze existing products for improvement opportunities and update documentation.
- Develop and enforce quality control criteria and safety guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Proven experience in product development.
- Experience in Process Characterization and Product Validation protocols.
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
- Knowledge of Scientific Molding is preferred.
- Experience in the Medical Device industry is a plus.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software is preferred.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
