About this role

We are offering a 12-month postgraduate program for Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners interested in advanced training in Primary Care with a start date of June 2026.

The Primary Care Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) Fellowship Program engages learners in extensive training in a variety of teaching environments and sub-specialties. Primary Care APC Fellows will spend a significant portion of their training at a primary care site, with rotations in those specialty areas deemed essential for proficiency in Primary Care at HealthPartners. Responsibilities include basic medical duties of performing histories and physicals, formulating an assessment and plan, and providing necessary treatments and procedures. Building on ACGME Family Medicine Core Competencies and common patient care presentations, APC fellows will have the opportunity to continue development of clinical competence, critical thinking skills, interprofessional collaboration, and professional growth. Through lectures and skills training, didactic sessions will complement diverse rotations and hands-on experiences.

Clinic site locations for this cohort will include Golden Valley, MN and Hudson, WI. 

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program

Note: Applicants may be in final year of completing this requirement with hiring dependent upon successful completion.

Licensure/Certification Required:

Current national certification by the NCCPA 

Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in Minnesota

-or-

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State of Minnesota

Current national certification by the AANP, ANCC or AACN

Current licensure to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult-Gerontological Nurse Practitioner in Minnesota

Note: Candidates are welcome to apply prior to having formal licensure and certification but must be obtained at least 3 months prior to start date of program.

  • 3 professional letters of recommendation (at least one letter must be from a clinical preceptor that personally supervised clinical duties)
