About this role
Akaal Pet Hospital is expanding from a 1 to 2 doctor practice! We are currently looking to hire Part-Time Veterinary Assistants to join our team!
- Salary: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.
- Schedule: Part-time, up to three 8-hour shifts per week. Must be willing to work on Saturday. Closed Sunday and Major Holidays.

Dr. Gill joined the practice in July 2024 and has helped rebuild the practice to a thriving, growth focused, care provider. Akaal Pet Hospital aims to provide owners with sound, honest choices for their pets and to provide our patients with excellent and compassionate medical care. We strive to give our customers the best personalized service possible and to create a friendly, professional work environment for our excellent staff!
Who You Are:
If you are that veterinary assistant who is looking for an exciting, no day ever the same, fast-paced, fun, energetic veterinary hospital then we look forward to hearing from you!
- 3 + years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary assistant
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint of cats and dogs
- Ability to perform nursing care in a veterinary hospital setting
- Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
- Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
- Collect laboratory samples for urinalysis, cytology, bloodwork, fecal analysis
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments per doctor orders
- Anesthesia monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative surgical care
- Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
- Diagnostic experience including digital radiology positioning
- Ensure a clean, safe and organized work environment
