Job Description:

Summary:

Students in this position will assist the Sociology department with various administrative tasks as needed. The employee will be available to assist Sociology faculty upon request for various tasks such as printing and gathering course materials, as well as organizational tasks for the department. Students will also assist the undergraduate program through creating marketing materials, attending recruitment events such as Preview Day, and disseminating information about the Sociology major and minor.

Essential Functions:

  • Print and gather course materials.

  • Complete organizational tasks.

  • Create marketing materials.

  • Attend recruitment events.

  • Disseminate information about Sociology.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Part-time.

  • 10 expected hours per week.

Salary Range:

  • $17.95 per hour.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Student at American University with an active Federal Work Study (FWS) Award.
