The American Red Cross is currently seeking a Senior Program Manager to support our development partners in their fundraising efforts.  Candidates for this position can reside anywhere within the US.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

The Fundraising Programs and Segment Strategy unit is the central office through which high-quality, consistent fundraising programs and platforms are created that reflect the organization’s fundable strategic opportunities. It is also the primary office through which individual, corporate, and foundation donor strategies are developed to maximize fundraising at the local, regional, national, and global levels.

The Senior Program Manager for Foundation and Corporate Fundraising Strategy will play a critical role in advancing our national fundraising goals, with a primary focus on foundation fundraising and a secondary responsibility for corporate fundraising. The successful candidate will serve as the organizational expert on foundation fundraising and drive progress towards the national foundation fundraising target.

They will work directly with fundraising teams across the country to support their foundation fundraising efforts, providing resources, tools, and best practices. They will also provide surge capacity to support large, multi-program corporate ask strategies and proposals within assigned divisions and share trends and insights on corporate giving to inform strategy. Experience in foundation and corporate fundraising is necessary. Experience with Foundation and Corporate Benefits and strategies, such as stewardship, and fundraising program design preferred.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD:

  • Facilitate fundraisers’ development of multi-program, custom or complex fundraising strategies and proposals, focusing on large asks ($250K + asks foundation donors and 1M+ asks corporate donors)
  • Provide leadership and facilitation for monthly Foundation RPO and Grant Writer Cohort calls, ensuring best practice sharing.
  • Offer coaching and support to fundraisers and priority regions as identified by Division Fundraising Vice Presidents.
  • Lead strategy and management of custom stewardship and benefits execution, in accordance with the Foundation and Corporate Benefits Matrixes, including custom stewardship reports and benefits for Mission Leader level donors.
  • Lead the successful development, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of major gift fundraising packages.  
  • Serve as an organizational subject matter expert in foundation giving, with additional focus on corporate giving strategies.
  • Design and deliver in-person and virtual trainings to enhance fundraising capabilities.
  • Work closely with fundraisers and internal program owners to maximize large fundraising opportunities.
  • Create and maintain fundraiser-facing and donor-facing guidance and communication for assigned program areas, posted to One Source.
  • Collect and analyze data, identify trends and areas of need and/or improvement, and develop recommendations for program improvement. Develop reports for management review.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including occasional direct international with donors and leadership volunteers.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

Educated: Bachelor's degree required.

Experience: Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.

Skills & Abilities: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the program or service. Demonstrated ability in creating presentations and developing training modules. Excellent oral and communication skills, including training and presentations. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Develop project plans, budgets, and strategies to achieve organizational goals. Demonstrate analytical and decision-making skills to develop creative processes for continuous program or service improvements. Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to work on a team.

Travel: Travel may be required

SALARY INFORMATION:

The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $105,000 

Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.
