Compensation: Hourly compensation is determined by teaching schedule (Sundays/Weeknights) - Weeknights: $111.12/hr, Sundays: $129.63/hr
The Maas Center for Jewish Journeys at American Jewish University offers a suite of educational and experiential programs. Our flagship offering is the Miller Intro to Judaism Program, an 18-week course designed for individuals seeking a refresher in Judaism or learning about Judaism for the first time.
Endorsed by the Rabbinical Assembly, the Miller Program creates welcoming and informative learning environments that equip students with the tools they need to explore and live a Jewish life beyond the classroom. While many students join the program as part of a conversion journey, participation is not limited to those pursuing conversion.
We are the most widely attended Intro to Judaism program in North America, serving over 1,000 students annually through our virtual platform, with participants joining from across the United States and around the world.
We are currently seeking additional clergy to teach from our On One Foot curriculum. Classes meet once weekly for 2.5 hours over an 18-week period. Instructors are expected to assign occasional homework to support student learning and to be available to answer student emails and questions for up to 30 minutes per week outside of class.
The position requires approximately three hours per week, including teaching time, lesson preparation, and out-of-class student support (54 hours total per 18-week course). Qualified instructors may be invited to teach multiple 18-week programs per year.
This position is fully online. Instructors must be comfortable teaching on Zoom and using tools such as breakout rooms, whiteboard, screen sharing, and other interactive features.
