Job Description

Part of a larger team delivering technology solutions to address business problems and opportunities. Focus on translating specific business requirements into technical solution architectures including application architecture, integration architecture, data architecture, and non-functional requirements around supportability, resiliency, security, etc. Translate general business requirements and business trends in architecture patterns and technology ecosystems including data center architecture, application architecture patterns, integration architecture patterns, technology standards, non-functional technical requirements, and computing paradigms.

What You'll Do:

  • Design and architect end-to-end Esri GIS solutions aligned with business, security, and performance requirements

  • Lead architecture and implementation of ArcGIS Enterprise (10.8.1+), including high availability and disaster recovery designs

  • Develop and review Python and ArcPy scripts for automation, data processing, and system maintenance

  • Guide the use and configuration of ArcGIS Pro for advanced spatial analysis and data management

  • Design and support Esri mobile workflows using Field Maps, Survey123, and related tools

  • Architect and manage enterprise geodatabases, including Oracle SDE, with attention to performance, versioning, and data integrity

  • Design and implement data integration pipelines using tools such as FME and APIs

  • Define and support cloud-hosted ArcGIS Enterprise solutions (IaaS and PaaS where applicable)

  • Establish CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and infrastructure-as-code practices for GIS solutions

  • Define and implement automated testing strategies for GIS services, scripts, and integrations

  • Collaborate with developers, GIS analysts, infrastructure teams, and stakeholders to ensure solution alignment

  • Provide technical leadership, documentation, and architectural guidance across projects

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience as a Solution Architect, GIS Architect, or senior GIS engineer

  • Expert knowledge of the Esri GIS platform, including:

    • ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8.1 or higher

    • ArcGIS Pro

    • Esri mobile tools (Field Maps, Survey123)

  • Advanced Python development skills, including extensive use of ArcPy

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise geodatabases, particularly Oracle SDE

  • Proven experience with data integration and ETL, including FME

  • Experience designing and supporting cloud-hosted ArcGIS Enterprise environments

  • Strong understanding of deployment pipelines, automation, and DevOps practices

  • Experience implementing automated testing for GIS workflows and services

  • Solid understanding of GIS security, authentication, and access control models

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Esri Technical Certification(s)

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP

  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Experience with REST APIs and system integrations

  • Background in large-scale or mission-critical GIS implementations

Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Experience: 8 years of relevant work experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Architect Staff (SG10):

Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Experience: 10 years of relevant work experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Architect Staff (SG10): $159,077 - $172,333
