$26.55 - $39.85

Sign On Bonus

This position is eligible for up to a $6,000.00 sign on bonus.

Major Responsibilities:
Customer Satisfaction
1)Ensure that appropriate equipment is available and functional for the OR suite. a) Prepare, operate and clean surgical equipment as directed. b) Report equipment repair needs within hours of discovery.

2)Assists with room clean up upon completion of the case. Assist RN with keeping TAT for minor cases at 10 minutes and major cases at 20 minutes exception: total joint, laminectomy, aortic aneuryms

3)Address and resolve customer complaints within 5 minutes of the complaint.

4)Ensure on-time completion of your performance pathway • a)Send out co-worker feedback forms 6 months before review to associates you and your leader have identified as able to provide valuable feedback. • b)Submit self-evaluation to leader two weeks before review

5) Participate quarterly in the TNT associate satisfaction survey

6) Submit ideas each year for improving customer satisfaction.

7)Maintains positive relationships with all customers (patients, significant others, physicians, and Associates) as evidenced by absence of any negative comment from customers

8)When on-call he/she must be ready to scrub within 30 minutes from the time he/she called-in.

Quality
1)Function in scrub role on specific procedures as required. a) Prepare for the surgical procedure by checking case cart per preference list, assembling required supplies and equipment, opening supplies, preparing sterile field and assisting with skin preparation. b) Understands the action and use of local anesthetic agents in order to be able to care for patients. c) Maintain available instruments by communicating needs of surgeons.

2)Provide assistance in preparation and maintenance of sterile OR environment. a) Scrub on assigned cases utilizing aseptic technique per departmental policy.

3)Maintain on-call availability.

4)Test autoclaves according to Policy and Procedure.

5)Participate in efforts to monitor and improve departmental CQI indicators.

6)Submit ideas for improving quality in your department.

7)Keeps the circulator informed of the progress/intra-operative variances in order to prepare for unexpected needs.

1)Develop a learning plan and track your progress on a learning log.

2)Completes the requisite hours of training per quarter by presenting one inservice with specialty team members prior to performance review.

3)Participates in in-service and continuing education programs pertaining to surgical procedures.

2)Participate in hospital-wide or departmental DIG each year.

3)Implement at least one Just-Do-It initiatives in your department during the year.

Organizational Climate
1)Collaborates with health care team members to provide for cooperative working environment. by working with team members of other specialties to meet surgeons/customers needs.

4)Attend all departmental staff meetings.

5)Responsible for updating assigned specialty & maintaining turnaround time within 20 minutes.

Productivity
1)Assist the circulating nurse. a) With surgical dressings application. b) Transport of pre and post operative patients. c) Positioning of the surgical patient as directed by the circulating nurse. d) Ensures on-time case start and maintains a 20 minute turnaround time between cases evidenced by assisting housekeeping and the circulator in setting the OR suite for the next case and by checking the case cart(s) for the case(s).

2)Cross-trained to sterile processing. Assists in sterile processing as necessary

3)Participate in efforts to improve productivity in your department by updating at least 4 preference lists a year, by informing materials coordinator of specialty supply needs.

4) Assist with keeping turnaround time within 20 minutes and on-time case start.

5) Completes weekly/monthly assignments regularly .

6)Submit ideas for improving productivity in your department

7) Performs other department based activities as requested/assigned.

Economics
1)Maintains inventory/supply levels for the assigned specialty. a) Stock, monitor request / ordering of surgical supplies for assigned specialty and maintains assigned OR suite supply PAR levels. b) Utilize resources appropriately; limit waste or loss by opening supplies requested preference List as requested.

2)Participate in efforts to contain costs or generate revenue in your department.

3)Submit at least one idea for reducing expenses or adding revenue, i.e., develop PAR levels for assigned specialty supplies.

Education/Experience Required:
-High school diploma or equivalent -Graduate from an accredited surgical tech program -O.R. scrub experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
-Good communication skills
-Certified Surgical Technician or acceptable equivalent training -CPR certified

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
-Must be willing to work with exposures to body fluids, radiation and waste anesthesia gases, hazardous materials and life threatening diseases -On-call availability (nights, weekends and holidays) -Ability to move heavy patients and equipment -Ability to stand for long periods of time -Able to communicate while wearing a mask and not facing others -Able to respond quickly in emergencies and function under stress -Ability to work at different table heights
If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
