With more than 25 cancer care locations, we provide access to top-ranked physician expertise, groundbreaking clinical trials and the latest cancer treatments across the Carolinas.

Position Details:

  • Outpatient APP role
  • Perform medical history, physical exam, document findings and plan of care in timely manner
  • Write appropriate prescriptions including chemotherapy after credentialing
  • Order and interpret laboratory and radiographic testing
  • Determine treatment plans with supervision of Attending Physician
  • Acute and routine visits, toxicity visits, chemo teaches, survivorship, and coverage for GU Clinic Provider Epic inbasket
  • Attend, participate in and contribute to group/practice meetings, development of policies and procedures, quality improvement initiatives
  • Clinic is open Monday – Friday; Schedule consists of 4 days/10-hour shift or 5 days/8 hour shifts
  • 2 Physicians, 1 APP
  • Eligible for PTO and Performance Incentive bonuses; $2500/1 week of CME

This APP functions in the outpatient setting caring for a GU solid tumor oncology patients and demonstrates appropriate critical thinking and interpersonal skills when working in a fast paced, high acuity work environment. Works well with multidisciplinary team. Qualified candidates will be able to perform thorough history and physical assessment.

Ideal Candidate:

  • At least 1 year of experience in hematology/oncology working as an APP
  • Effective communication (written and verbal)
  • Willingness to collaborate closely with clinical team
  • Current on best practice and standards of care
  • Displays self-initiative to learn

Position Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program. Current license to practice as an NP or PA in North Carolina. Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS for healthcare provided from a required.
    • Nurse practitioners required to have Master's degree or Doctorate in nursing practice.
    • Physician Assistants with certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred. Current or pending CAQ certification preferred.
