About this role

Amentum is seeking a highly motivated and talented Junior Electrical Engineer -to support Electromagnetic Environmental Effects.

Electrical Engineer -Junior job responsivities include:

  • Works with the pulser team in both an indoor and outdoor lab environment, to prepare and execute test activities

  • Supports MIL-STD-3023 High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse testing for various military aircraft, weapons and communication systems

  • Builds, operates and troubleshoots electromagnetic pulse simulators, high voltage/high current equipment and specialized components

  • Calibrates, maintains and organizes specialized test equipment

  • Researches and develops current electromagnetic pulse simulators/subsystems to improve reliability/performance

  • Interacts/Coordinates with customers, contractors, subcontractors, technical leads, program managers, supervisors and executive supervisors to perform roles and responsibilities

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or other field with experience in pulsed power engineering, applied electromagnetics or high energy physics

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Clearance.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience performing magnetic/electrical field analysis of pulse forming networks using field sensors, fiber optics, oscilloscopes and signal processing software

  • Familiarity of engineering design tools such as MATLAB, LABVIEW, CAD software (AutoCAD or Solidworks), Circuit Modeling software (Pspice or equivalent), etc.

  • Knowledge of pulse forming networks involving high voltage pulsed power supplies and fast switching devices from a theoretical or practical standpoint

  • Knowledge of analog and digital technologies

  • Knowledge of the practical use of RF test equipment (oscilloscopes, VNA's, etc.)

       

Compensation Details:

$50,000 to $65,000
