Job Description

PURPOSE:

The Thermoforming Engineer position is a technical support & engineering role designed to provide on-site technical expertise to the Thermoforming Operations. Thermoforming Engineers will be tasked to effectively impact and improve the overall Thermoforming Operations. Through collaboration with production and support departments a Thermoforming Engineer will identify and help resolve process interruptions to maximize the potential of a given process. Once an improvement opportunity is identified the Thermoforming Engineer will successfully execute the entirety of the project (investigating, planning, justification, capital tracking, etc.) & ensure effectiveness of the provided solution. Thermoforming Engineers will also be tasked with implementing new systems, processes, molds, and/or equipment into the Thermoforming Operations to continue to improve business effectiveness & operational success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Investigate, plan, and execute major and minor capital projects to improve overall performance of Thermoforming Operations.
  • Effectively execute all aspects of a project: planning, financial justification, organization, capital spending, contractor & vendor scheduling, and overall project effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with production & support teams to provide on-site technical support to ensure operational success.
  • Effectively train technical and support staff on any executed projects.
  • Responsible for personal safety and safety of others by ensuring compliance with all applicable policies and standards.
  • Ensure vendor & contractor compliance with all required training, policies, and procedures in accordance with Amcor EHS directives.
  • Assist with all other projects as assigned by leadership team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 1-6 years of manufacturing experience required.          
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and provide direction in a positive manner.
  • Proficient with 2D & 3D modeling software and Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to travel as required (approximately 10% annually).
