Job Description

Purpose of the role:  Work with the Quality Manager to improve and sustain Quality Department activities.

  • Troubleshoot potential product quality issues.
  • Aid in completion of batch records, including nonconformances, final review, internal document control, and verification of records.
  • Write/modify/review testing protocols and reports, including but not limited to mold qualifications and/or capability studies.
  • Create and track internal and external corrective and preventive actions.
  • Data Analysis/Review, verify outliers, report results
  • Communicate with Managers, Engineers, Production, and Quality personnel.
  • Backup to Metrology Technicians - inspect components against specifications and measurement system requirements.
  • Measure dimensions of products based on customer specification, drawing, internal plan, and/or internal documentation
  • Help Maintain and Archive Batch Record, Raw Material, and Retain Samples.
  • Conduct all job duties in accordance with the company’s published policies.
  • Improve quality and measurement techniques and testing.
  • Educate others on quality and testing procedures, as necessary.
  • Assist with internal audits and customer audits, as necessary.
  • Promote 6S and maintain clean and organized work area.
  • Support Quality Department as directed by Quality Manager

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Possesses well-developed communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Addresses inquiries and resolves problems by using appropriate resources/other departments to achieve results/answers.
  • Ability to work in a high paced and multi-task environment.
  • Possesses high ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Basic understanding of SPC, AQL, sampling plans and familiar with injection blow molding.
  • Mid-level computer skills required
  • Ability to read, write and follow written or verbal instructions. 
  • Ability to read and understand product drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Demonstrates organizational skills and is very detail oriented.
  • Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers. 
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools and equipment. 
  • Ability to interact closely with other departments to support customer focus and efficient operations.
  • Capable of differentiating between colors and shades of color.
  • Capable of physical mobility and lifting 20-30 lbs multiple times per day.
  • Demonstrated analytical and technical ability within field of expertise.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years experience within quality, metrology, or engineering roles preferred.
  • Knowledgeable  use of a variety of measurement equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic statistics preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft products (Word/Excel/Powerpoint, etc.)
  • Understanding of analytical and problem solving skills
  • High School Diploma or GED
