Job Description

SUMMARY Performs repetitive production and packing operations to mass-procedure products such as preforms by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Randomly check parts produced every hour, to ensure that customer specifications are met. Places parts in specified relationship to each other.

Monitors flow of parts into assembling machinery, secondary equipment, and storage containers.

Tends machines, such as presses and crystallizers in molding area, according to machine (product) standard.

Works at different work stations as production needs require,

Works on line where tasks vary, as parts of various sizes and shapes move along the line.

Check all finished parts for any possible defects (including grease, flash, punctures, and other defects). Packs all parts which are of good quality into boxes, in preparation for sealing and shipping.

Completes daily report of parts produced and any scrap parts which resulted.

Notifies Lead Person, Mold Technician and/or Production Supervisor whenever items produced do not

meet quality requirements, or if machinery need repair.

Uses calculator to arrive at accurate calculations of different production-related data. Wears all required personal protective equipment.

Maintains housekeeping of work areas.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None

LEVEL OF AUTHORITY

The Machine Operator has the authority to shut down production equipment to prevent the production defective product.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

The Machine Operator has the responsibility to successfully complete the position training program found in the plant training manual.

QUALIFICATIONS Requires strong understanding of blow molding process and the ability to understand basic good manufacturing practices and guidelines. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three

months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES Certificate and training in safe forklift operation are required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and color vision.
