About this role

Job Summary

The Manager, Theatre Learning & Development designs, delivers, and evaluates learning solutions that support business strategy and operational performance. This role partners with business leaders to ensure learning interventions drive adoption of initiatives, build capability, and improve results across theatre operations.

This position is based in Leawood, KS and is not eligible for relocation.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead cross functional project teams to design, develop, implement, and maintain learning interventions aligned to business objectives.
  • Consult with business units to assess needs and recommend learning solutions that support execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness by measuring learner reaction, knowledge transfer, behavior change and business impact of training programs.
  • Develop and deliver engaging live and virtual instructor-led training experiences.
  • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design techniques to maximize learner engagement and retention.
  • Use blended learning approaches to support learners across varied work environments.
  • Communicate learning and development strategy, priorities, and available resources to learners, partners and organization leaders.
  • Maintain learning content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with current business needs.
  • Manage timelines, priorities, and resources to deliver high-quality learning solutions on schedule.

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, HR related disciplines, or commensurate experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience with people management or leading cross-functional teams.
  • 1+ year(s) Learning and Development experience.
  • Proficient in web-based training development and delivery tools including learning platforms and virtual meeting tools (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.).
  • Superior oral and written communication skills; ability to produce professional-grade support documentation.
  • Knowledge of instructional design methods that support effective learning outcomes.
  • Familiarity with adult learning concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate classroom instruction confidently and effectively.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and best practices.
  • Ability to design and support blended learning solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence positive outcomes across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a service-oriented and collaborative manner.
  • Ability to travel periodically to meet role and department objectives.

What we also value (preferred):

  • Master’s degree in Adult Learning.
  • Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD).
  • Experience with Articulate 360 and/or Cornerstone Classroom.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, HR related disciplines, or commensurate experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience with people management or leading cross-functional teams.
  • 1+ year(s) Learning and Development experience.
