About this role

Amazon Industrial Robotics is seeking exceptional talent to help develop the next generation of advanced robotics systems that will transform automation at Amazon's scale. We're building revolutionary robotic systems that combine cutting-edge AI, sophisticated control systems, and advanced mechanical design to create adaptable automation solutions capable of working safely alongside humans in dynamic environments. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of robotics and automation at unprecedented scale, working with world-class teams pushing the boundaries of what's possible in robotic manipulation, locomotion, and human-robot interaction.

If you’re passionate about safety and performance and have an interest in robotics systems, then we’d like to talk to you about becoming part of an organization with global impact on millions of customers.

Key job responsibilities
Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about building the right solutions for our customers and willing to collaborate with other teams to ensure that our product will meet Amazon-scale. They will:
- Learn and master multiple components including networking/Wi-Fi, security, robustness, and versatility of control approaches on a modern actuation and system hardware.
- Lead the architecture of these complex systems and break problems down to support more junior coworkers effectively contributing and will explain our progress and present simplified explanations of issues to project managers and other non-technical leaders.
- Create solutions that strike the balance between world class performance and maintainability.

A day in the life
As an Embedded Software Engineer you will work with cross functional teams to develop, test, and debug both our low-level sensing and motor control firmware and integrate it in to a mid-level real time software controlling the entire robotic system. The development process will involve participating in the design process, analysis of any potential pitfalls of proposed approaches, and implementation of new products and features. Testing efforts involve either writing automated tests to vet the newly created features or live testing to debug and root cause issues.

In addition to normal development and testing responsibilities, software engineers are occasionally involved in live debugging our systems at Fulfillment centers.

Amazon offers a full range of benefits that support you and eligible family members, including domestic partners and their children. Benefits can vary by location, the number of regularly scheduled hours you work, length of employment, and job status such as seasonal or temporary employment. The benefits that generally apply to regular, full-time employees include:
1. Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage
2. Maternity and Parental Leave Options
3. Paid Time Off (PTO)
4. 401(k) Plan
If you are not sure that every qualification on the list above describes you exactly, we'd still love to hear from you! At Amazon, we value people with unique backgrounds, experiences, and skillsets. If you’re passionate about this role and want to make an impact on a global scale, please apply!
