In this pivotal role, you will serve as the technical lead for a strategic focus area that will revolutionize how we model, document, and reference security posture across Amazon services. You will develop innovative solutions that unlock ambiguity and automation within the application security space, enabling builders to deliver secure solutions faster than ever before.

Working at the intersection of security and automation, you'll build systems that eliminate toil for both builders and application security engineers. Your technical expertise will drive the development of Service Profiles, providing a common mechanism to standardize security posture documentation and verification. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of security reviews in an AI-accelerated development environment, ensuring builders can deliver value to customers securely and efficiently.

Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable software solutions that automate security verification processes, eliminating manual toil for builders and application security engineers
- Lead technical architecture decisions for Service Profiles, ensuring solutions are technically sound, operationally performant, and highly maintainable
- Mentor peers and collaborate across teams to drive adoption of security automation best practices while maintaining high coding standards
- Develop innovative approaches to modeling and documenting security posture of Amazon services, creating systems that scale with the increasing pace of development
- Balance technical excellence with practical implementation, ensuring solutions address immediate needs while establishing foundations for future security automation

A day in the life
Your typical day mirrors that of a software development engineer, blending technical work with strategic collaboration. You'll write code to implement automation features, meet with customers to gather requirements, collaborate with peers on technical solutions, and mentor junior team members.
