US Prime and Marketing Tech (UPMT) GeMA team is revolutionizing customer relationship management through generative marketing agentic workflows (GeMA). The GeMA’s SDEIII role will lead the cross-organizational initiative to develop and implement a cohesive Agentic Marketing Framework aligned with agentic components of GeMA (Customer Understanding, Channel Delivery, Content Creation, CX, Copy, Creative, and Critic). This role will connect multiple engineering and science teams to audit, consolidate, and develop AI-based solutions that transform how Amazon reaches customers with personalized marketing at scale across Stores.
Technical Leadership and Scope
The SDE III will develop the technical foundation for GeMA's multi-agent architecture, creating clear interfaces between the agentic components of GeMA while ensuring system cohesion. The Principal Engineer will be responsible for designing fault-tolerant multi-agent orchestration patterns, establishing evaluation frameworks for agent performance, and defining data contracts between components. The role requires aligning technical vision across numerous stakeholder teams like P13N (MessageCraft), AME, and NA Stores through detailed technical specifications and reference implementations.
The SDE III will influence strategic technical decisions by presenting novel architectures to senior leadership, including SVPs and S-team members, demonstrating advanced prototypes that balance innovation with practical implementation paths. Technical artifacts will include architectural decision records (ADRs) for model selection trade-offs, reference implementations showing agent-to-agent communication patterns, and technical roadmaps balancing short-term wins with long-term architectural evolution.
