Job Title
As a Senior Developer within the Airlines Solution Engineering division of Amadeus Travel Unit, you will play a key role in the ARI transformation from PSS to Nevio, Amadeus’ next-generation retailing platform. This role involves designing and developing cloud-native applications that enable fraud protection capabilities for airlines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions aligned with industry best practices and Nevio’s traveler-centric principles.
Lead development efforts for ARI transformation, ensuring seamless migration from PSS to Nevio.
Design and develop Java-based microservices for high-volume, low-latency applications.
Work on data streaming and real-time processing using Apache Kafka; optimize performance for mission-critical systems.
Collaborate with product and functional experts to deliver customer-facing solutions with a product/platform mindset.
Drive automation and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
Ensure built-in quality and security across all stages of development.
Participate in architecture discussions, propose improvements, and contribute to technical direction.
Work autonomously and guide team members to achieve sprint objectives.
Engage in cross-geography collaboration, occasionally working overlapping hours with global teams.
Promote agile principles and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Experience & Background
9-11 years in software development with expertise in Java microservices and cloud-native architecture.
Proven experience in end-to-end implementation and hosting of microservices-based products.
Strong knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase) and relational databases (OLAP, OLTP).
Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka for streaming and real-time data processing; MQ messaging is a plus.
Solid understanding of OOP concepts, design patterns, multithreading, memory management, and performance optimization.
Exposure to Python, Scala, or R and familiarity with Databricks, data warehousing, and Azure stack is desirable.
Experience with airline industry standards such as NDC is a strong advantage.
