Senior Software Development Engineer – Airport Cloud Use Service

About the Business

Amadeus Airport Cloud Use Service (ACUS) is a next-gen Microsoft Azure based Common Use platform. Through application virtualization technology, Amadeus has moved Airline Departure Control Systems (DCS) and other applications from the airport core room into the cloud, enabling on-demand access to passenger processing systems; anywhere, anytime. As part of the ACUS team you will be instrumental in designing applications and middleware that will shape the travel experience of our customers and be a vital contributor in the evolution of ACUS.

Summary of the role:

Within ACUS teams, as a Software Developer, your main responsibility will be scripting and development of interfaces to integrate 3rd party applications (airlines' or airports') on ACUS platform and enable those applications to use the certified peripherals of the platform. You will be able to collaborate as well on the development of new middleware/tools to evolve the product.

In this role you'll:

• Work mostly autonomously, take decisions and drive the development of solutions to simple and complex problems.​
• Support, mentor and guide more junior level roles.
• Analyze software requirements for the development of new (or upgrade of existing) software solutions.
• Lead and drive the designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring, implementing and documenting of software products, interfaces and middleware.
• Diagnose and resolve software problems.
• Coordinate installation of software systems.
• Conduct unit, package and performance tests and ensure a level of quality in line with the Amadeus guidelines.
• Develop code for extensive test coverage, and perform continuous deployment in a professional software engineering environment.
• Apply generally accepted programming standards and techniques to ensure efficient program logic and data manipulation.
• Participate in the validation phase of the product cycle, fine-tuning when necessary to finalize the product.
• Support the customer by debugging existing solutions and provide fixes when necessary.
• Produce software documentation necessary for the application and issue it to the requesting departments.

About the ideal candidate:

• Proficiency in Java.
• Knowledge in C++.
• Experience with Rest APIs.
• Experience with Python/Powershell or equivalent.
• Experience in Frontend development is a plus.
